I think the biggest importance is having a QUALITY person doing the tuning, wether it's on a dyno or E, or road. It's easier for me to just have 2 tunes vs trying to get all the temp & baro corrections dialed in perfectly. I also have a summer & then a winter tune, as the car runs a little different-done via etune. All due to where I actually drive the car-up in the mountains. Next is road tunning, preferably with one person running the computer while the other guy drives. I couldn't do that road tuning.)Īlso, on the dyno, they can watch the torque really accurately while real time changing your timing to really get it dialed in, things like that, being able to change things & directly see how it affected performance, you can't really do without a dyno. I would sit in the car with my det cans on watching the computer & concentrating on that, while the other guy ran it all. Also for people with complex systems, it's easier to troubleshoot & adjust things in a controlled setting. Ideally, I'd want to street tune, then move to the dyno for the full power stuff, then back to steet tune to polish it all off under real time conditions.ĭyno is probably the safest, easiest, and the fastest.
